open pasture

Wow, i now have a journal client so I don’t have to go through the web

Coolios! I now have something that is an applicaiton that will update my LJ for me on my computer so I don’t have to go through the LJ website. Anyways, here is what’s going down at the pad of the Gods…

First, my grandparents came over today and first we talked about college, moving on, and caught up on things. Then we went out and got some lunch at the plainview diner (on the way out I was very very very happy to see that my two books on bookbinding came) and lunch was very good. Grandma and Grandpa came back home and we said our goodbyes, and then they drove home to beat traffic.

Right now it is 6:54 and I’m *JUST* doing my laundry so I can pack and be ready to leave for the airport tomorrow (woohoo, Orientation Day at Buffalo HERE I COME!).

Anyways, I have some more installing to do, so I’ll chat with you later.

On the train again, I just can’t wait to get on the train again…

Wow, its 1:31:55 am and I’m writing this while I’m on the train (I’m going to post this as soon as I get home. This was the first *GOOD* day I have had in a long while.

I got to work at the IAC in the morning; they sent me out to get a keyboard for a new computer I was supposed to setup (I also picked up a new day-timer organizer, one that actually FITS in my bag…) and then when I got back, I was sent to a special New York Library branch where they had shelves and shelves or archived photos. I had to get photos on Martin Luther King, the Black Panthers and other civil rights groups (the IAC is publishing a new book on civil rights, but anyways…).

Then, when we got back a bunch of us took the Q train to Coney Island and saw (for free mind you) an *AWESOME* fireworks show. We got to sit on the beach not more than ten feet from where they were launching them, it was great; there was a spectacular “Red, White and Blue” finish.

Then I realized what time it was, so I didn’t get to go on any rides (but now that I know how to get there, I’m gunna go back with friends), I said my goodbyes and high tailed it to the Q train, took a 45 minute ride to 14th Street – Picked up some roses for Mom (the grandparents are coming tomorrow…) got a sandwich and a Gatorade for the train (as well as some grapes) and caught the F (because I was too lazy to walk two more blocks to the 3) to 34th street and walked over to Penn. Station.

When I got to Penn Station, I called home to inquire as to whether or not my brother passed his road tests (if the fates are kind they would have failed him, just on the basis that he made fun of me for failing my first time and has been nasty as all hell latley…) but no one would give me a straight answer. When I called Dad was actually civil (albeit a pain in the ass) so I guess things are looking up.

As I have said before, he has fired my mother five times (or is it six) so me being fired once isn’t really a big deal, it just means that I have to erase’ my “Jarro” schedule from my day planner which means I need to buy a new eraser.

It’s now 1:39:23 AM and I’m not even home yet, there are three cops on this bus who are acting like total ass holes, honestly, and they wonder why people call (called) them PIGS!

Anyway, it was a great day, I felt like al little kid again seeing the fire works, it was an amazing display, and I was with friends so all is well, I actually smiled and laughed, I hadn’t done that for a few days :-)) so I can now go to sleep happy, and now wakeup early and go…COLLEGE SHOPPING ::groan:: then my grandparents are coming over for dinner (to jointly celebrate their anniversary and me and Dave’s graduation.

We’ll g’night!

::Post finished at 1:42:33AM::

WooooHoooo Got Me OS X!!!

Well, before dad wen’t ape, he allowed me to order the macintosh OS X upgrade for my laptop, so I now have OS X and I’m loving it.

Today was pretty boring. I was supposed to wakeup early to drive mom and sam to where they had to go, but sam didn’t get up in time, so mom drove herself (basically, I could have slept later, oh well…) I didn’t do much because dad didn’t want me coming into work, so I basically wrote thank you cards, had popcorn and installed OS X all day.

Tonight I have a meeting in the city, and tomorrow is work at the International Action Center, we’ll, I’m kind of in a tired and hungry mood, so I’m pro’lly gunna get something to eat.

We’ll, a brief synopsis…

Dad didn’t approach me, didn’t even bring up the subject, although he did tell mom earlier today (when he was still mad) that he didn’t want me working for him ever again, yadda yadda yadda, we’ll, if thats the case, I’ll do political work all summer, if it’s not the case, he damn well has to stop blowing off steam like that, it’s very immature.

Anyways, I had a great dinner with good friends toniight, so I’m going to bed.

My *Retirement* Dinner…

Well, I just got back from my retirement dinner that my previous employers threw for me (thanks btw 🙂 ) and it was very very nice.

We went to the Milleridge Inn which is about 15-20 minutes away from my house and had a really really great dinner; had some funny stories (we laughed so hard we thought they were going to throw us out…) and I recieved a *VERY* nice rolling duffle bag which is TOTALLY excellent for the plane rides back and forth from Long Island to Buffalo (funny thing is, dad was complaining that we didn’t have enough luggage to move the other day…)

Well, it’s been a great night all around so I’m gunna go head off to internet land, then get ready for bed as I have to wake up early in the morning to drive my family around.

Hmmm….Dad’s home ::grabs the lightsabre::

Hmm, Dad’s walking in the door as I write this…completley ignores me and goes upstairs…innnnnnnteresting, veeeeeeery inteeeeeeeresting…We’ll, I’m not gunna bug him…*yet*…I’ll let him make the first move and work from there; playing a game of chess is alot easier than playing “two steps ahead of you psychology.” Anyways, I need to get ready for my “congratulations, you’re retired and leaving us” party from my previous employers, I’ll take mental notes and post shortly.

Welcome…

“Hello darlings…”

Sometimes it is a good idea to sit down and analyze Cabaret, it’s one of those plays that can be analyzed 101 and different ways, and each time you analyze it you think of something new.

For instance, what does the bi-sexual emcee really represent, when he is not seen by the rest of the characters, but is doing something that influences the rest of the scene. E.G. throwing the brick, taking the cigarrete from Cliff Bradshaw on the train while not being scene and singing along with him; was it meerley being creative, or perhaps, the Emcee is meant to represent the duality of humanity.

He is bisexual, racist, Jewish (according to the ending), and “dirty” but in a way that relates to many; perhaps he is truly what people want, a real life and a sex life; one that would be completely sepearte from each other.

More theories later…

Real Folk Blues…

As I listen to the music play, echoing the feelings of my heart, I wonder if I can be whole, or will I come apart. My world tumbling; falling tearing, all infront of my eyes; can I gain control. Bombs dropping, war in the air, pollution around and no one seems to care.

President selected thinks he owns the place, he forgets the power is in the hands of the people and it’s not his place. Even the poor have a voice; all you have to do is listen. The people united; will never be defeated.

Beatings, rape, and murder – all sanctioned by the state. He thinks like a capitalist – exploit and gain control; screw the mothers on welfare who don’t know the word “relax.” Socialism is the way to go, but he just can’t see that.

Students get dummer, it’s hard to find a teacher who teaches, many say “its okay, you’ll do fine, make partner at daddies firm at the ripe old age of 29.”

The time for change is now. We can’t let it continue, for if he is allowed to go on our enviroment will be gone.

Save the children

There’s gunna be hell to pay…

Lets first begin by stating a fact: When I go on the “warpath” there is NOTHING that can stop me (except victory of course) and this is one of those occassions.

My father (the misunderstood genious that he is) decides to come into my room at 6am and try and wake me up (which obviously doesn’t work because instead of him setting a time for us to get up last night, he goes to bed early without talking to anyone). He then storms out of the house very very angrily (apparently I’m supposed to read minds, excuse me for not consulting my crystal ball…).

::I go back to sleep::

Mom wakes me up and says “you have ten minutes to get dressed” and something along the lines of “if you value your life.” Well, I get dressed, but unfortunatley, I didn’t walk out of the door quick enough for my father, so he left again; enraged at me, for once again, doing nothing (as the little !@#$!@#$ didn’t bother to consult with me or mom with regards to who’s driving who today!). So it is at this point that I feel the need to share some facts with you.

  1. Dad didn’t consult with either me or mom today; even though he KNEW that I have to get to the doctor, and that I have a goodbye dinner with my previous employers (yes, another job…).
  2. Dad promised me a car three years ago if I go to a SUNY. I am (I’m going to Buffalo [the Univeristy not the crappy college]). If I had said car that he promised me three years ago I would have been able to get to work no problem, and none of this would have happend!
  3. Dad forces my younger brother (Sam) to go to baseball training daily, which is why mom couldn’t let me borrow her car in the first place to go to work (do you SEE the logic here…)

So when my father gets back (if he has the guts to walk in the front door) there WILL be hell to pay.
