open pasture

Let me tell you – I *MISS* you guys, I know how college you’re supposed to reinvent yourself, but due to the fact that classes didn’t start yet, I haven’t had a chance to really meet my group of people.

I don’t like having a massive amount of friends, I like just a few close ones (maybe three), and I still haven’t found them (but again, i’ve only been here a few days so I know it’s gunna take time). Classes start Monday and I’m both excited and scared – although more excited than scared. It’s just a weird feeling knowing that what I’m doing *NOW* supposedly has an impact on what I’ll be doing my entire life.

It’s a completley different adjustment – it’s bizzarre to say the least, I mean the thought of the fact that I’m pretty much on my own is pretty weird – okay, as a matter of fact; it’s very weird.

This morning I decided that I didn’t want to wait for my fridge, so I went and picked it up myself and wheeled it back to my room on a luggage cart. It’s a pretty neat fridge – it has a soda can dispenser and everything.

Today Mom, Dad & Sam came over and I gave them a tour of the campus (Sam was bored about 22.243 times per minute). I took them to the VERY nice “cybrary” as well as starbucks, and the Student Union. After which, I headed over to the Micro store while mom and dad talked, because I needed to pickup my free version of Microsoft Office for OSx.

Then the whole group went to the bookstore where they got their hands on all the clothes they could want (beaering, of course, the UB Logo) and I got the last textbook on my list.

When we finished up, I brang them back up to my dorm room so I can take digital pictures, and then we headed out to dinner and the hotel, so the rents and Sam could rest, although we needed just a *few* more things at Wal*Mart so we went shopping first. (I go a cruton mini-version of a futon so feel free to come on up and visit: that’s an open invite). Then back to the hotel to rest.

After resting, we went out to a rib & steak house to eat and had a great time – it was *VERY* good food.

Anyways, its 9:39:39 AM and I’m waiting for the rents to call me so we can meet up one last time before they go on the plane home ::sniff:: (plus, they left all of their UB clothes here….) and then I’m heading off on my own to explore campus and figure out how the hell to get to class.

Love Y’all

My move up to college…

Well, I’m almost all setlled in @ college, it’s pretty cool.

Me and dad came up on Wednesday via jetblue and got to the hotel at around 4:50. We then left sam there because he wanted to rest, and found out that for paying a fee of $25.00 we were able to move in early – which was very very very nice, as we avoided the thousands of other students who moved in yesterday.

Yesterday (Thursday) we went shopping three times to get even more stuff that I needed (e.g. a better chair, storage tubs & tools) and then we went over to my dorm @ UB. We started to unpack, set everything up (all we really did wednesday was move the luggage in) and then at 4:00 we picked up Mom @ the airport (she was coming in from Minnessota). After that, we needed to get her something for her stomach, and dad and I went dorm shopping again; then we headed back to my dorm.

We setup some more stuff (mom and sam laid on my bed) and mom fixed eeyore’s eye’s which have been rubbed off with love over the past 11 years. After we finished setting everything up; dad, mom & sam (and me too) went out to dinner.

Then ::sniff:: they went back to the hotel for the night, and I slept in my comfy dorm room (you can NEVER have to many pillows), at about 10:00 I took a shower and got ready for bed, and came back online to chat for a bit. At Around 11:30 last night I needed the bathroom (which is convienently located across from my room) but to my dismay,, it was locked (we have airport security type locks on our bathroom doors – apparently they were having trouble with people stealing toilet paper) well, needless to say quite a few people complained so at around 12:15AM this morning the bathroom was unlocked.

Interesting Fact – for some strange reason people kept on getting banged into my door last night, I’m not terribly sure why, and I don’t think I really want to know, assides from the fact that it it is soooooo much more fun to leave it to the imagination.

We’ll its 11:30 now and I’m going to go see if me and the rents (sam too) can meet up for lunch and give dad a tour of the campus.

Major Update in Progress….Quizzies & More

Which Peanuts Character Are You Quiz

Bah Says Frank!

Wow, it’s 6AM already – how about that, I’ve been up all night, basically, I was coding from 11:00PM to 4:40AM non-stop to turn ZeusNYC.com into a Zine website (thanx to all my friends, who are now writing for the zine, U guys r0x!). I really really really need coffee right now, so I think I’ll go get some of my Africa blend and make some…mmmmcoffeee.

I leave for the airport today via portkey (which strangely looks like a blue mini-van) to get to the new Hogwarts Express Jetblue Airlines (they’ve recently added an airlines to their service, becuase sometimes the train just couldn’t cut it…). After arriving at the airport, I need to go to gate 10 and 6/8ths and board the plane, which will take me to gate 4 and 3/10ths at Buffalo International airport.

Getting back to the zine ::coughcoughOneTrackMindcoughcough:: I’m really excited about it, the site looks cool, and it’s waay functional, but it SIRIUSLY needs to be beta read. I’m great for content editing, but as far as grammar and spelling go, forget it. ::looks at the geek “pwwweeeease”::

I’m very excited (and somewhat tired, as I didn’t go to bed last night. I get into a tunnel-vision mode, where I just code and code and code, and chat and code for hours, without looking at the time, and then when I’m done, I’m sort of wiped out.

Anyways, I’m all packed. The final suit case count is as follows:

# Luggage Type Comment
3 Suitcases all of my schtuff
2 Rolling Duffles 1 for me, and 1 for dad and sam to share
1 Steamer Trunk This thing is massive and *HEAVY*, it was Mom’s when she went to college.
1 Laptop Case Well, let me describe my laptop case for a moment. It’s leather and HUGE, the thing was $250.00 worth of cow, and it has an expandable zipper, that is very expanded. It weighs over 25lbs at the moment
3 Random Carry-on’s We’ll be entertained for the 55 minute flight.

Getting back to my normal train of thought, it was fun to go out to friendlys for a “last meal” with Benn & Margot (V had to go to her grandparents house). We went to friendlys (and NO I *DIDN’T* piss off this waitress…) and got ice-cream and a Kootie.

To my friends on LawnGiland and now brandeis…

I’M GUNNA MISS YOU!!!

Okie, here’s the skivvie….

Wow, where do I start…..

Well, let’s do a rundown by day, I guess

Saturday I had dinner with my Aunt for the reason that we finished her book ::hurray!!!!::

Sunday – Went shopping with Margot, purchased a shirt for dave as a graduation gift, went to Margot’s house for a BBQ (her dad’s cooking ROX, KILBASA!!!! not to mention his BBQ sauce…)

Monday – WOOHOO, had lunch with Royalty ::bows to the queen:: and discussed everything from Azkaban to Zonkos. I got lost in the middle of gaum, but managed to find my way to the resteraunt. Margot got home a tad late to some not so happy parental units.

Tuesday – Writing LJ, and will write more later.

WooHoo The Book Is Finished…

Anyways, this book that I have been working on w/ my Aunt & Associates is finally done – mailed it out to the printer today, so its out of my hands until we actually see it in print.

I’m pretty excited, my Aunt’s friend Betsy says that she may be able to get me a deal on either:

1- contracting my photographs for lease
2- doing a photo show
3- Doing a book of my photos

Anyway, we’ll see…

I leave in (lets see, its Fri. at 12:40:20 am) 5 days…Wow, ::reminds viewers to check his mood setting::

I’m like almost all packed, I just need to packup my CD-RW and Zip Drive, etc. but before I can do that I need to burn a cd for my Aunt, backup my computer, and some other stuff, my printer goes to dave (I can actually move that out of my room now).

Anyways, mom is still at the Mayo Clinic, and I’m feeling this about college right now (damn my health teacher and her word transition…) happy, worried, freaked, psyched, confused, excited – Transition!

Tomorrow I got to pickup comps, do errands, etc. & Possibly clean my room.

Anyways,
TTYL
