Love and Hate It’s All The Same My Way…

Okay, Yes…I know…I know…I love you, I hate you, we’ve been in a lovers spat for like…100 years…possibly more…you were open source, then you were sold to SixApart which was really just dramatic on your part, then you were purchased by the current group of people who have been having some kind of love affair with Frank…I’m not really sure, I’ve only been browsing the news updates…but yes, I’m moving back in…I’ve already sent a truck to pick up my stuff…

I know, I was angry at you…I said some things, you said some things, but I’ve missed the communities and friends we’ve shared…and the longer I’m in the army, the less serious I can take myself…and WordPress, while powerful, is way too serious…and since I’m often away from my computer for a long time, it’s nice to be able to update via cellphone…and, quite frankly…sometimes, like Regretsy, I need some whimsical fuckery in my life, and there isn’t enough of that with WordPress.

I’ll be pointing my domain name here shortly again too…I’m home baby…let’s not fight like this again…I’m tired…I’m tired of the fighting…and then the merging of Journal entries, the editing, the re-tagging…let’s let bygones be bygones and next time we fight, fuck it, we’ll just open up a nice little place in Santa Fe.

Quick Check In

Just a quick check in.

This trip has been wonderful, busy but wonderful! There’s a lot of new things on the horizon and lots of life changes coming up in August and over the next eleven months. Right now I’m listening to some music and getting ready for bed.

Next week, while I have the chance, I’ll be doing some travel reviews and catching up on emails when I have free time between New York City, hanging out with my friends and family for my last week in the US and general relaxation…and of course attempting to revive my poor, neglected-yet-still-loved, blog.

Now, however…I need to pass out.

Is on Long Island

I arrived safely this morning. I’m exhausted, but staying up so I can sync with the local time zone.

Large travel blog coming after I get some sleep (I’m speaking primarily in Hebrish at the moment) – I was on a plane full of awful travelers and annoying tourists…it was an awful flight. This means that my next post will be a NomadTips post in order to introduce everyone to the wonderful world of flying while not looking, behaving like a total tool towards other passengers and those unfortunate stewards and stewadeses who are forced to deal with you (not that I feel so bad for this flight crew, saying that they were sub-par is putting it mildly). We’ll start at your apartment and walk you all the way through leaving the airport at your destination.

This morning I ate ate breakfast at a diner, had brunch at my Grandparents (bagels) and I’m looking forward to pizza tonight which means that the only other thing I’ll have to eat is Chinese food and I’ll be caught up on all of my people’s ethnic food groups.

My father is watching war movies in the office (which is where I’m typing). War movies are for me what I think Grey’s Anatomy must be for doctors…I get to see enough of this crap at work,  so I’m going to go make a cup of coffee and sit in the living room and enjoy the view.

How to not be a sucky passenger, up next :-D

Acquainted with the Night

This is one of my favorite poems by Robert Frost.

Growing up, it was included in a section of poems to ponder and meditate on in the back of a prayer book at my synagogue. I shared it with a friend today and decided to share it with all of you as well.

Acquainted with the Night

by Robert Frost

I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain — and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.

I have looked down the saddest city lane.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.

I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet
When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,

But not to call me back or say good-bye;
And further still at an unearthly height,
O luminary clock against the sky

Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.
I have been one acquainted with the night.
