2007-July-7 I went as security for my commander when we went into the West Bank today. Gorgeous, gorgeous place (surprisingly quiet). It was interesting to see signs entirely in Arabic for things like home insurance, schools, cars, etc. Personally, being there for the first time, getting to walk around — I’ve always hoped that we can get a final peace agreement worked out, begin getting to know one another…but today, even more so. After seeing how beautiful it is, I hope that the leaders on both sides can see the creation of a state, where the Palestinian people will have nothing but success…it would be a waste to squander such beauty.
